2013-14 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week
For the week of March 17-23, 2014
For the final Athlete of the Week during the 2013-14 season, we would like to spotlight not just one or two athletes but the entire Americans roster for the 2013-14 season.
Great Falls finished the 2013-14 season with a 39-13-3 record and a runner-up finish behind Helena in the final American West Hockey League (AWHL) standings. Great Falls won 22 of their 27 home game at the Great Falls Ice Plex and finished 17-8-3 on the record. There were several Americans who picked up season awards including Donovan Mattfeldt and Aaron McInnis who were named to the All-AWHL League First Team, Jeff Heimel received Coach of the Year honors, and McInnis was also named the League Most Valuable Player (MVP). Great Falls also led the seven team league in attendance for the 24 regular season home game at the Great Falls Ice Plex this season by averaging 663 fans per game.
2013-14 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week
For the week of March 10-16, 2014
Donovan Mattfeldt and Aaron McInnis are the Great Falls Americans Co-Players of the Week for March 10-16, 2014. The Americans won three of their four AWHL Semi-Final Playoff games this week against the Gillette Wild. In March, he was named to the All-League First Team on Defense and received a "Community Service Award" during the 2013-14 season.
Mattfeldt had 1 goal and 1 assist to help the Americans win 5-1 in the Americans playoff opener in Gillette, scored two of the teams three goals the following night to lift the Americans to a 3-2 win and contributed 1 goal and 1 assist in game three's double overtime loss (3-2).
McInnis, the team leader in goals and assists this season, registered one assist apiece in the first three games of the series and then scored an empty net goal and grabbed an assist in the final game of the series that the Americans would go on to a 5-2 victory. Earlier this month, he was also named "Best Forward" and the "AWHL League Most Valuable Player" voted on by the league's coaches.

2013-14 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week
For the week of March 3 -9, 2014
Cody Page is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for March 3-9, 2014. The Americans played three games in three days to finish out the 2013-14 season with Great Falls picking up victories in two of them.
Page recorded a hat trick (3 goals in one game) in helping the Americans to a 7-1 victory over the Glacier Nationals on March 6th. He scored all three of his goals in the third period including one on a power play.
In the season finale against Bozeman, Cody added the first goal for the Americans to tie the contest in the second period.
He finished second in the team behind Aaron McInnis with 27 goals scored during the 2013-14 season and fifth in assists.

2013-14 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week
For the week of February 24- March 2, 2014
Donovan Mattfeldt is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for February 24 - March 2, 2014. The Americans only had one game this week as they returned home from a month long road trip to face the visiting Bulls from Billings on Sunday afternoon.
Mattfeldt was a key player in two of the three goals that were scored by Great Falls in a 3-2 overtime victory against the Billings franchise. Donovan scored the first goal of the contest within the first four minutes of the second period. The score was knotted up at 2-2 after three periods, so in overtime he was credited with one of the two assists on the power play score that was converted by teammate Dylan Garton to give Great Falls the win with 1:47 left in the first overtime.
The Glendale, Arizona native recorded his fifth goal and 24th assist on the season on Sunday.

2013-14 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week
For the week of February 17-23, 2014
Dylan Garton is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for February 17-23, 2014 for the second consecutive week in the month of February . In their lone game on Saturday night (Feb. 22nd), the Americans standout contributed 3 goals (hat-trick) and one assist in Great Falls' victory over the Bozeman Ice Dogs. He is the team's fourth leading scorer with 19 and he has a total of 27 assists in 44 games.

For the week of February 10-16, 2014
Dylan Garton is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for February 10-16, 2014. In Friday's (Feb. 14th) 5-1 victory against the Yellowstone Quake in game one of a two game series, the Great Falls, MT native had 1 goal and 1 assist. The following night, he registered his 15th and 16th goals and contributed 3 assists as the Americans posted a 7-4 victory. The three assists bring his season total to 26.

For the week of February 3-9, 2014
Aaron McInnis is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for February 3-9, 2014. During this past week, McInnis helped the Americans post a 5-1 victory over the Glacier Nationals on February 9, 2014 by registering two assists at the Stumptown Ice Den. He also scored a goal on Feburary 8th against Billings in a 4-3 double overtime loss to the Bulls.
The Anchorage, Alaska native currently leads Great Falls in both goals (25) and in assists (35) and is tied for fourth in the league for goals scored. The 5'6" forward is a fan favorite as Great Falls currently leads the league in attendance this year. For the week of January 27- February 2, 2014
Tanner Doty is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for January 27 - February 2, 2014. The 6'0" forward added a goal and an assist in helping the Americans post back-to-back wins over the Gillette Wild at home and in the loss to the Billings Bulls this week.

2013-14 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week
For the week of January 20-26, 2014
Cody Page is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for January 20-26, 2014. He helped lead the Americans to a 3-1 victory over the Glacier Nationals on January 23, 2014 by recording a goal in the first and third periods. His third period goal was on an empty net as time expired.
Page also talled the only goal for the Americans the following night (January 24, 2014) against the top-ranked Helena Bighorns despite a 6-1 setback.
