2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the weeks of September 14-26, 2015

Ricards Bernhards and Brendan Jester are the Great Falls Americans Co-Players of the Week for September 14-26, 2015. During the opening two week of the regular season, the Great Falls Americans won three straight games including a 12-1 triumph over Glacier (Nationals) and a 4-3 overtime win and a 5-1 victory in consecutive nights at the Yellowstone Quake. 

 

Newcomer Ricards Bernhards played a major role in the three victories as he had a goal and an assist in the huge win over Glacier in his first game as an American. He recorded two goals including the score that sent the game into overtime as well as the game-winner during the first 55 seconds of overtime to give the Americans a 4-3 victory in Cody, WY. The next night against the same Yellowstone team, he assisted on two goals and scored once.

 

Brendan Jester, who played on last year's 2015 NA3HL Frontier Divisional championship team, started off with a hat trick in the team's opener at home against the Nationals. He had one assist and one goal in the two wins over Yellowstone.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the weeks of September 27 - October 3, 2015

Austin Krantz is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for September 27 - October 3, 2015. 

 

Austin played a key role in lifting Great Falls to a 5-0 record including two wins this weekend. In Friday's 5-1 road victory over the Havre, MT based Glacier Nationals, he dished out 2 assists.

 

The following night at home, the Highlands Ranch, Colorado native scored once and added a goal in the 4-1 victory against the Billings Bulls.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of October 4-10, 2015

Austin Krantz and Stevan Goran are the Great Falls Americans Co-Players of the Week for October 4-10, 2015.

The Americans suffered their first two losses on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 9th and 10th) and only scored one goal each night while allowing four in two games. Stevan Goran and Austin Krantz each registered one goal apiece during the 2-1 setbacks against the Yellowstone Quake. Great Falls had a record of 5-2 at this point and won five straight before dropping two.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of October 11-17, 2015

Arseny Ivanov, Adam Apangalook and Ricards Bernhards are the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week for October 11-17, 2015. In Great Falls' lone game this week, a trio of players contributed to the Americans 7-2 win against the Billings Bulls in Billings, Montana on Friday night. The Americans snapped a two-game losing streak after winning five straight contests to begin the season.

 

Against the Bulls, Ivanov, Apangalook, and Bernhards each finished with one goal and two assists apiece to help the Americans to a 6-2 record after eight games. Bernhards leads the team in scoring with six goals in his 7 appearances.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of October 18-24, 2015

 

Stevan Goran and Brendan Jester are the Great Falls Americans Co-Players of the Week for October 18-24, 2015.

 

Great Falls won three games in three nights including a pair of road victories in Gillette, Wyoming and then coming home to pick up a 4-3 victory in a shootout. 

 

Goran scored once during each of the victories and registered 3 assists in the road wins against the Gillette Wild. He provided the game-winning score during a shootout with Bozeman on Saturday night. 

 

Brendan had two goals and two assist in Thursday's 4-1 victory against the Wild and then added a goal and one assist in the 5-2 win the following night against the same team. He also played a key role for Great Falls in Friday's shootout win.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of October 25-31, 2015

Tanner Congdon is the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week for October 25-31, 2015. 

 

Tanner Congdon, a 5'9" forward from Anchorage, Alaska, scored one goal and delivered three assists as the Americans went 1-1 against the Helena Bighorns this week. He tallied one goal and one assist in Great Falls' home victory (3-2) over Helena on Friday night. He also had two assists in the 3-2 loss the following night in Helena.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of November 1-7, 2015

Josh Larson is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for November 1-7, 2015.

 

During Friday night's 5-2 win against Gillette, he recorded two assists and was a key member of the Americans throughout the night. The following night, despite a 4-2 setback against Gillette in the second game of their two game series, he scored both of the goals for Great Falls, all in 2:24 second span in the final period.

 

He now has scored three goals and has dished out eight assists in 13 appearances.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of November 8-14, 2015

Josh Larson, Adam Apangalook and Austin Krantz are the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for November 8-14, 2015.

 

Josh Larson, a forward from Anchorage, Alaska, helped Great Falls edge out Helena on Friday night 3-2. He contributed one goal and one assist. On Saturday at home against Billings, he had one goal in the first period. 

 

Krantz, a native of Colorado, had one goal and one assist at Helena. His assist to teammate Blake Miller gave the Americans a 3-2 win with five seconds remaining in regulation. The following night against Billings, he tallied one assist.

 

Apangalook scored the first of his team's three goals on Friday night and he also dished out two assists in the 5-0 shutout win at home against the Billings Bulls the following night.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of  November 15-21, 2015

Tegan Harrington and Mitchell Ramstad are the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week for November 15-21, 2015.

 

Tegan Harrington, a forward from Wasilla, Alaska, scored a total of three goals in two games against Bozeman on Friday night and the following night at home against Glacier. He scored the first first goal in Friday's 2-1 loss at Bozeman and scored the first two against Glacier the following night. 

 

Mitchell Ramstad, a native of Minnesota, scored twice and assisted on one scoring drive to help Great Falls cruise by Glacier at home 8-2.

For the week of  November 22-28, 2015

Tanner Congdon is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for November 22-28, 2015.

 

Tanner Congdon registered points in two of the three games this week. On Friday night, he scored two goals in the third period of their 5-2 win over the Glacier Nationals. He also provided an assist on Josh Larson's second period goal. Despite a 4-3 loss the following night to the Bozeman Ice Dogs, the forward from Anchorage, Alaska added one goal during the middle period. 

 

Great Falls won two of three road games this week. Overall, Great Falls has won 16 of 22 games.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of  November 29 - December 5, 2015

Tanner Congdon and Josh Larson are the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week for November 29 - December 5, 2015.

 

In Great Falls' only game of the week against rival Helena, Tanner scored two first period goals as the Americans picked up a 5-1 win over the Bighorns on Friday night. He also had one assist on the first goal of the third period.

 

Josh Larson assisted on Congdon's second goal and third goals of the NA3HL contest. The Alaska native netted his first and only tally of the game with 4:26 left in regulation.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of December 6-12, 2015

Tanner Congdon, Ricards Bernhards and Hayden Moistner are the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week for December 6-12, 2015.

 

In Great Falls' only game of the week, the Americans offense could not be stopped by the Glacier Nationals. Great Falls scored four first period goals followed by three more in each of the last two periods to defeat the Nationals 10-0.

 

Tanner Congdon had a hat trick (3 goals) and dished out one assist in the romp. Newcomer Hayden Moistner netted his first two goals as an American in this contest. Ricards Bernhards provided two goals and two assists.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of December 13-19, 2015

Tanner Congdon, a 5'9" forward from Anchorage, Alaska is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for December 13-19, 2015.

 

Congdon managed to get points in two of the three games that the Americans played at the 2015 NA3HL Showcase Tournament (Dec. 17-19) in Blaine, Minnesota this week. He had one assist apiece in the second and third periods of Thursday's opener vs. Euless (TX) Jr. Stars as they defeated the Texas NA3HL team 7-0.

 

The following night in a 3-2 overtime loss to the NA3EHL East squad, Tanner's third period goal tied the score at 2-2 and sent the game into overtime. He also provide one assist in the opening period.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of December 27 - January 2, 2016

Ricards Bernhards is the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week for December 27 - January 2, 2016.

 

This weekend, the Americans faced a two games on the road against the Gillete Wild. Bernhards, a forward from Jelgava, Latvia, scored three goals in the two-game series. 

 

In Friday's 6-1 win, the Latvia native scored twice and assisted on one scoring drive. 

 

He scored the first goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Wild and helped keep the Americans in the game on the defensive side. 

 

As of January 2nd, he is currently tied for second on the team with Brendan Jester  for goals scored with 14. Tanner Congdon leads the team with 15.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of January 3-9, 2016

Ricards Bernhards and Reed Link are the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for the first week of 2016 (January 3-9, 2016).

 

Bernhards, a native of Jelgava, Latvia, scored twice in each of the two game that Great Falls participated in this week against the Helena Bighorns (Friday) and the Glacier Nationals on Saturday night. Great Falls beat Helena 5-1 on home ice and down Glacier on the road in Havre, Montana 7-1. 

 

Meanwhile, Bernhards teammate scored once and assisted on one scoring drive in the win against the Bighorns and provided two assists on Saturday night.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of January 10-16, 2016

Ricards Bernhards and Tanner Congdon are the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week (January 10-16, 2016).

 

Tanner Congdon scored one of the three Great Falls goals and added an assist in their 3-2 win over the Bozeman Ice Dogs in the first of three straight home games over the weekend. Ricards Bernhards, the Americans player of the week for the past two weeks, grabbed one assist.

 

In their two games against the Gillette Wild, Tanner Congdon finished with 1 goal and one assist in each of the games against the Wyoming club. Bernhards had 3 goals and dished out one assist in the weekend series versus the Wild. Great Falls won 2-1 on Saturday night followed by a 4-0 shutout win.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of  January 17-23, 2016

Tanner Congdon, a 5'9" forward from Anchorage, Alaska, is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week  (January 17-23, 2016).

 

Great Falls fell twice on the road to the Yellowstone Quake on Friday and Saturday night in Wyoming by the scores of 5-3 and 3-0.

 

Congdon scored one of the three American tallies in the opening period to tie the contest at 2-2. He also had an assist in the Americans first goal by teammate Wade Wylie.

For the week of January 24-30, 2016

Ricards Bernhards, Arseny Ivanov and Tanner Congdon are the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week for January 24-30, 2016.

 

Bernhards registered two goals over the weekend including one in the Americans 3-2 win in overtime against Bozeman and the lone goal in their 2-1 home loss on Saturday.

 

Tanner Congdon and Arseny Ivanov had two assists apiece as the Americans went 1-1 against the Ice Dogs. 

 

Bernhards currently leads the team in goals scored with 23 and Congdon leads the team with 33 assists..

For the week of January 31 - February 7, 2016

Tyler Garcia, Malachi Bushey, Kyle Johnson and Ricards Bernhards  are the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week (January 31 - February 7, 2016).

 

Tyler Garcia netted two goals while Malachi Bushey, Kyle Johnson and Ricards Bernhards each scored once and had an assist in Great Falls' only game of the week; a 7-3 win against the Billings Bulls at home.

For the week of February 8-14, 2016

Tyler Garcia is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for February 8-14, 2016.

 

Garcia scored two goals and dished out one assist for the weekend with two wins for the Americans. In Great Falls' 6-1 win at the Billings Bulls on Friday, he registered two goals. The following night, the Anchorage, Alaska native was credited with one assist on the first goal of the game against rival Helena. Great Falls edged the Helena Bighorns 2-1.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of February 15-21, 2016

Ricards Bernhards, Josh Larson and Jake Stephan are the Great Falls Americans Co-Players of the Week for February 15-21, 2016.

 

These three players participated in the Top Prospects Tournament along with their two regular season games.

 

Bernhards played with the NA3HL 18U Selects Black team that finished 1-2 in the three day tournament. He scored one goal in each of the three games plus one goal against Helena on Friday and Saturday night. He also had two assists against the Helena Bighorns. 

 

Josh Larson suited up for the Frontier Division team coached by Americans coach Jeff Heimel. He had one goal and 3 assists in the tourney and then had two goals and 3 assists against Helena during the weekend. 

 

Jake Stephan, the Americans goaltender, also played for the Frontier team in the Top Prospects Tournament in Michigan. He played in two out of three games and recorded 47 saves. He also played against Helena on Friday night and finished with 31 saves. For the week, he had accumulated 78 saves and allowed just three goals in three games.

For the week of February 22-28, 2016

Tanner Congdon and Austin Krantz are the Great Falls Americans Co-Players of the Week for February 22-28, 2016. 

 

Congdon, who hails from Anchorage, Alaska and teammate and Colorado native Austin Krantz each scored once and dished out one assist in the Americans 7-1 blowout win against the Billings Bulls in Great Falls on Friday night. 

 

Great Falls only had one contest this week.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of February 29 - March 6, 2016

Reed Link, Blake Miller, Tegan Harrington, Kyle Johnson, Tanner Congdon, Brendan Jester, Josh Larson and Ricards Bernhards are the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week for February 29 - March 6, 2016. 

 

During Great Falls 9-2 lopsided victory over Billings, these eight players scored one goal and had an assist includng Blake Miller, Kyle Johnson, Tanner Congdon, Brendan Jester, Josh Larson and Ricards Bernhards. Reed Link netted two goals and Tegan Harrington had two assists in addition to a goal in the Americans last road trip of the regular season. 

 

This was Great Falls' only game of the week.

For the week of March 7-13, 2016

Kyle Johnson is the Great Falls Americans Player of the Week for March 7-13, 2016. 

 

Kyle Johnson scored one of the six goals and dished out one assist in Friday's 6-4 win at home against the top-ranked Yellowstone Quake. 

 

Johnson, a forward from Eagle River, Wisconsin, Arkansas, also netted one goal and assisted on one scoring play but the Americans came up short in the season finale on Saturday night by the score of 5-4 to he Quake.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of March 14-20, 2016

Josh Larson and Ricards Bernhards are the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week for March 14-20, 2016. 

 

Great Falls finished the season in second place in the NA3HL's Frontier Division and earned a semifinal matchup with #3 Bozeman Ice Dogs on Thursday (March 17) and Friday (March 18) in a best-of-three series won by Great Falls in two games.

 

Playing key roles in both wins (2-1 in double overtime on Thursday and 2-1 win in regulation on Friday) were Ricards Bernhards, a standout all season long for the Americans, had the game-winning goal in the first 89 seconds of the second overtime. Josh Larson also provided an assist in the win. in game one.

 

Josh Larson, the team leader in assists for the 2015-16 season, scored twice in the first period and Ricards Bernhards assisted on both goals in the Americans 2-1 win in Bozeman.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of March 21-27, 2016

Tyler Garcia and Tegan Harrington are the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week for March 21-27, 2016. 

 

Both Garcia and Harrington helped lead the Americans sweep the Yellowstone Quake 2-0 in the 2016 Frontier Divisional Finals this week. The Americans won on their home ice on Thursday night, 4-1. Harrington, a native of Wasilla, Alaska, scored two goals and dished out one assist in the win in Game 1 of the best-of-three series.

 

Garcia, scored the final two goals for the Americans as they edge Yellowstone, 5-4 on Saturday night to capture the 2016 Frontier Divisional championship in Cody, WY. His first score in the third period tied the game at 4-4. He scored the lone goal for either team in the final period with 4:04 remaining in the game to help secure the Americans a spot in the 2016 NA3HL Silver Cup Championship Tournament in Romeoville, IL this next week.

2015-16 Great Falls Americans: Player of the Week

For the week of March 28 - April 3, 2016

Tyler Garcia, Wade Wylie and Jake Stephan are the Great Falls Americans Players of the Week for March 28 - April 3, 2016. 

 

For the second consecutive season, the Great Falls Americans were the 2016 Frontier Division Champions in the NA3HL. A trio of players guided them to the 2016 NA3HL Silver Cup Championship this week is Romeoville, Illinois.

 

During the three pool play games and the semifinal, Tyler Garcia scored three goals and one assist. He scored one goal in a 2-1 win over the Point Mallard (Alabama) Ducks, scored once and had an assist in an 8-1 win over the Yellowstone Quake and scored one of the four American goals in a 5-4 loss in the semifinals to Metro (Michigan) Jets.

 

Wade Wylie, the Lake Stevens, Washington native, dished out one assist against Point Mallard and had a hat trick (3 goals) and two assists against Yellowstone. 

 

Goaltender Jake Stephans saw action in three of the four games this week. He recorded 23 saves vs. Point Mallard, 29 saves against North Iowa and accumulated 31 saves in the semifinal loss to Metro (MI) Jets.
